FAQs

  • Do you provide care in my area?

We provide home care across Reading and the surrounding areas, including Tilehurst, Burghfield, Mortimer, Caversham, Earley and Central Reading. If you’re unsure whether we cover your location, just get in touch – we’ll always do our best to help.

  • What kind of care do you provide?

We offer a wide range of support to help people live comfortably and independently at home. This includes personal care, help with medication, meal preparation, companionship, domestic support, and end-of-life care. All care is tailored to the individual, so it fits around your routines, preferences, and what matters most to you.

  • How do I arrange care?

Just get in touch but email, telephone or through the messaging system, and we’ll organise an assessment at a time that suits you.

  • Will I see the same carers each time?

Yes – continuity is really important to us. We aim to provide familiar faces so you can build trust and feel comfortable. You won’t have a stream of strangers coming into your home.

  • What’s the difference between using Direct Payments and private care?

With Direct Payments, Social Services give you money to arrange your own care, rather than doing it for you. This means you can choose a provider like Evelyn Grace. We also support private clients directly — we’re happy to explain both options.

  • Do your carers have training and background checks?

Yes. All of our carers are fully trained, DBS checked, and carefully selected for their empathy, reliability, and professionalism. Many also have experience supporting dementia, complex needs, and end-of-life care.

  • What if my needs change?

Your care plan is always flexible. We review it regularly and adapt things quickly if your situation changes.

  • Can family members be involved in the care planning?

Absolutely. We encourage family involvement and see it as an important part of providing the best care. We’ll work with you and your loved ones to build a plan that feels right for everyone.
